“You might as well talk to a wall!”
I heard my parents say that when I was little.
It meant this: a wall is better than a person who refuses to understand you.
A wall can’t talk back.
It can’t argue.
It can’t twist your words.
These days, people have AI friends, so maybe we don’t need walls anymore.
But sometimes, I don’t want an answer at all.
Sometimes I just want to say what’s sitting inside me,
and have someone simply listen.
To nod.
To stay.
To hold me gently, like my feelings aren’t too heavy to carry.
Every now and then, I miss a warm hug.
